I'm not a fan of Polly Toynbee...
...but I think her take on the MPs expenses row is spot on.

Just out of interest, the implication of one of her sentences is that you and I (as private sector workers) are the opposite our public sector brethren- presumably that makes us more greedy, richer and less motivated by civic sense. Do you think she is spot on in this?

No, I agree with you that that one sentence is badly phrased. But I think the piece as a whole is good.
