How often have you heard in an aeroplane what the person sitting behind you talks about? Maybe the journalist heard few words, and made up the rest.

And Clegg can't deny the story, because then he would have to tell which parts of it were fiction, and which weren't. And if then somebody who sat in the aeroplane would come forward and tell that he, too, heard Clegg telling the same things than the journalist, the scandal would only swell.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-346310154784158602.post-4988087826214363762008-12-01T00:40:00.000+00:002008-12-01T00:40:00.000+00:00I disagree Matthew - while this is undoubtedly dam...I disagree Matthew - while this is undoubtedly damaging and may well undermine trust with his colleagues, I certainly don't see it as a resigning matter. But Clegg does have to avoid further gaffes like this or the £30 a week pension one - they do raise questions over his competence.Bernard Salmonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16756716991445396009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-346310154784158602.post-55149778037165149602008-11-30T23:58:00.000+00:002008-11-30T23:58:00.000+00:00Clegg bnow has two choices - sue or resign.Clegg bnow has two choices - sue or resign.Matthew Huntbachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18255872047710686115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-346310154784158602.post-3511855643392018012008-11-30T22:49:00.000+00:002008-11-30T22:49:00.000+00:00It's not impossible that might have happened, but ...It's not impossible that might have happened, but is there any evidence to suggest that this did?
